Cloth training pants are more appropriate than the diaper-like training pants. Children will be able to feel the effects of a toileting accident sooner and are often uncomfortable feeling wet. With diaper-like training pants it could take a couple of accidents before they feel wet. The discomfort from being wet could be an incentive to using the potty.
